High Strength Nuts And Ordinary Nuts
Many users do not know the difference between high-strength nuts and ordinary nuts, in fact, as long as you understand their specifications and other characteristics, it is easy to tell. The so-called high strength nut is a special bolt with high strength and high fatigue resistance used in special equipment or engineering. Of course, generally high strength nuts are used with high strength bolts to achieve the best use effect.
Generally, we see in the market that many bolts with M head are ordinary nuts, rather than high-strength nuts. The calibration side of general hexagon nuts is in the following format M30, where M30 indicates the thread specification, that is, the inner diameter of the thread is 30mm, grade 10 indicates the service performance grade of the bolt, and tZn is the surface treatment.
Other forms of bolts also have their own expressions, but generally with thread to begin with “M” bolt performance grade:
The performance grades of nuts from small to large are divided into 3, 4, 4, 5, 5.8, 6, 8, 10, 12 and so on. This marking method means that 10 indicates 1/100 of the tensile strength of the bolt. In other words, the tensile strength of the bolt of this grade must reach 1000 mpa, which may be higher than 1000 mpa.
GB/T3098.1 specifies that the minimum tensile strength of bolts of this grade must be greater than 1040MPa. The strength ratio behind the decimal point is marked, that is, the (yield strength/tensile strength) of the bolt =0.9, that is, the yield strength =1000*0.9=900MPa. The yield strength of the bolt of this grade must be higher than 900MPa before it is qualified.
Generally, we refer to the three grades of 8.8, 10.9 and 12.9 as high strength nuts.
It should be noted that GB/T3098.1 does not give specific yield strength values for the bolts of these three grades, because for high-strength bolts, 0.8 and 0.9 are the minimum strength ratio stipulated by this grade. Since high-strength bolts are used for very important links, there is no spot sale in the market, and they must be ordered from the bolt manufacturer. Therefore, the specific yield ratio is generally produced by the buyer’s specific value.
